Amenmesse is listed in the king list under ‘19th Dynasty’ and so belongs to this period: New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BC). Reign: 1203–1200 (1203–1200/1199) BC (?). The figures in brackets give the alternative dating by the Egyptologist Jürgen von Beckerath. The throne name is Men-mi-Re-setep-en-Re.
What is known about Amenmesse
The exact placement of this pharaoh is unclear. He may have been a rival king during the reign of Seti II.
