Seti I (Sethos I) is listed in the king list under ‘19th Dynasty’ and so belongs to this period: New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BC). Reign: 1290–1279 (1290–1279/78) BC. The figures in brackets give the alternative dating by the Egyptologist Jürgen von Beckerath. The throne name is Men-maat-Re.
What is known about Seti I (Sethos I)
Seti I undertook campaigns in Syria and against the Libyans. His building activity was very extensive. His mortuary temple, with its famous king list, was built at Abydos.

The period: New Kingdom
Egypt becomes a great power with a sphere of influence stretching from Sudan to Syria. The vast temples of Karnak and Luxor and the tombs in the Valley of the Kings date from this period.
