Ramesses VIII is listed in the king list under ‘20th Dynasty’ and so belongs to this period: New Kingdom (c. 1550–1070 BC). Reign: 1128 (1126/23–1125/21) BC. The figures in brackets give the alternative dating by the Egyptologist Jürgen von Beckerath. The throne name is User-maat-Re-akh-en-Amun.
What is known about Ramesses VIII
He is attested only at Medinet Habu and by a few small objects.

The period: New Kingdom
Egypt becomes a great power with a sphere of influence stretching from Sudan to Syria. The vast temples of Karnak and Luxor and the tombs in the Valley of the Kings date from this period.
